Friends of Pet Sounds
by charlie on 08/2/2011So, people who have followed these playlists with any kind of regularity may or may not know that they’re compiled by me, Charlie. It’s always been fun and I’ve not got bored or run out of ideas but I thought it was probably about time to tap the resources that are readily available to me in the form of many friends and acquaintances that have massively varied and equally valid tastes in music. Southsea has long had a deep well of DJs and musicians and lots have joined us at Pet Sounds events through the years, bringing everything from reggae, to disco through hip-hop, funk and soul with so much in between, we’ve always welcomed experts in field to come and extend the ‘anything goes’ attitude that we’ve tried to promote since we began putting nights on years ago.
This is the first in an occasional series of special playlists we’re gonna call ‘Friends of Pet Sounds’. I’m extending the offer to anyone whose tastes I respect and admire and in turn people are coming back with ideas of their own for playlists they might do, themes that might work and friends that they reckon would be up for getting in on it too.
